November has been the start of many things and one of those things is this: Stuff that made me feel something this month. A roundup of all the things from Film, fashion, art and culture that I discovered and fell in love with in November and if you guys like it, the months to come too. So without further explanation, mainly because I am unsure of what to say, here are my obsessions of November 2025.
1. Frankenstein
Like the rest of the internet, I have been absolutely obsessed with GTD’s Frankenstein adaptation. On November 7th, I and my parents sat down for those whole three and a bit hours in absolute silence watching perhaps the finest piece of art I have seen in cinema for YEARS (and that includes Beetlejuice Beetlejuice). As well-known as he is, I had not seen Oscar Isaac in much apart from Star Wars and Mia Goth has always been a firm fav of mine but it was Jacob Elordi who I did NOT expect to blow me away as much as he did.
The pretty boy, the typical six-foot five hottie, Jacob was the last person I would’ve ever cast in such a sensitive and complex role but oh boy did he change my perception quick! I didn’t recognise the man from Elvis and Euphoria one bit in that fragile, beautiful being that was the creature (Or Adam as he should be called) and I have to say, I fell in love with it through him! Jacob Elordi has always been quite attractive in my eyes but seeing the sensitive talent he holds, I can’t help but love him even more. Maybe I’m a little attracted to the creature too but I’m not ready to have that conversation yet.
I am looking forward to Wuthering Heights despite the controversy, mainly to see if I like him as much out of the make up as I do in it.
2. My Mug
I have been back home for a little while now and being back home has meant I am reunited with my favourite mug! I got it from Typo about a year ago and I went to try and find a link to the Emotional State Supporters Club mug but unfortunately I don’t think it is sold anymore but here is a very similar mug in the same range as mine which may make itself into my cupboard eventually. I just love a snarky mug.
3. Herbal Tea
With my mug of course I have to have tea! This month I went a little crazy with my tea collection and promoted it from a couple of types to probably around fifteen? Twining’s and Pukka are my go to tea merchants and its hard to choose a favourite blend but I have been loving the Twining’s Digest Tea for after dinner and the Pukka Vanilla Chai which is surprising because I used to hate chai.
4. The Poison Tree by Erin Kelly
I’ve been in a little bit of a reading slump, one of those where I try to read something but I cannot quite finish it or if I do its very laborious. However, this little book I picked up for £3.99 in some random stationary shop turned out to be one of the best books purchases I have made this month!
Set in the 90s, The Poison Tree is a novel primarily taking a look at British university life and the party subculture associated with it. We follow Karen Clarke as she looks back on her time at university after the release of her long-time partner Rex, and the events that led up to his release from prison.
In summary without giving any spoilers, this book heavily focuses on the consequences of living life as if having none, and the fallout of such a life. One of which the pieces are picked up by the people closest.
If you’re like me and you love a kitchen sink drama that blends romance and crime into its making then this is a book I highly recommend reading.
5. Embellished Accessories
I feel like a magpie with this one but anything completely embellished with beads has been an obsession I cannot see ending any time soon. Anthropologie is to blame for its origins with their beaded bag charms and Fiona Purses but Oliver Bonas has also managed to call to me with their Bow striped cross body bag. Sigh… one day I will justify owning this but for now I am very happy with my Olive You beaded velvet pouch from ASOS. I promise I am not as consumerist as I sound! (Said the shopaholic).
6. Hair Claws
Growing my hair out has been a trial but I wouldn’t change my wild red locks for anything now even if taming a wild dog would be easier to accomplish. There is one tool that seems to keep it in check though and makes it look good too (in a Helena Bonham Carter Mrs Lovett sort of way) and that is the trusty claw clip!
I have been slowly growing my collection over the past month but I still have my eye on some that will make their way to me eventually.
The Squirrel Hair claw by Fatface caught my eye immediately because one: I am a huge lover of the nut obsessed rodents – I think they’re rodents?
And two: I love a whimsical and out of the ordinary accessory.
If there was a fox or an otter too, I think I would have to add those to my basket too but for now the squirrel sits alone in my basket eyeing the checkout.
Anyone who knows me knows I love vintage things and the moment I set my eyes on this clip by Hey Ricochet on one of my daily Instagram scrolls, I was besotted! In particular this one enamoured me the most but this one, this one and this one too make it impossible to choose a solid favourite!
7. Sweet Chilli Veggie Cakes
I am trying to lose weight and before you say “Oh Lydia you don’t need to” I do. There is a pudge on my stomach and thighs I want to shift before it makes me feel any more awful than it does already. I haven’t the best relationship with food and its quite hard for me to find something I like but oh boy could I KISS the person who pitched veggie cakes to Kallo.
Spicy food is a favourite of mine so naturally the sweet chilli flavoured ones get my highest rating but there’s a bunch other I have yet to try and seeing their gluten free, there’s no stopping me! Hopefully their low calorie high protein content will serve me well in my goals.
8. RobDoingRob
From sweet chilli veggie cakes to “MUMMYS CHILLI JAM”. That has grown to be a vocal stim of mine now by the way. Robdoingrob came across my TikTok FYP one late night scroll. A relieving reprieve from the spookier things that made their way onto my feed late at night when I needed to pee, Rob’s iconic quote and his tasting of his “mummy’s chilli jam” brightened up my screen.
It wasn’t long before I started binge watching his content, followed him and then found him on Instagram to follow there too. There’s something so relaxing and comforting about watching a gay British guy be fabulous in his kitchen. Rob if you see this, please be my friend and invite me over to tea and jam.
